Journey: Chiang Mai Thailand
One day, visit the great temple of doi suthep and handicraft industry
The Wat Prasart Doi Suthep is at 1300 meters altitude in the Doi Pui National Park. The beautiful temple, worth a visit, is 16 kilometers from the city and can be reached over a steep, winding road. A 300-step staircase, with Naga’s (mythological 7-headed snake) as handrails, leads the last piece to the temple. Is this stairway nothing for you, there is also a lift! In clear weather you have a nice view of Chiang Mai.

The towns of Bor Sang and San Kampaeng, just outside Chiang Mai, are known for their craftsmen. Visiting a number of workshops is a must during a stay in Chiang Mai. We will find silk woven fabrics, silversmiths, wood carvings and lacquer and celadon factories. Here are also the famous parasols made and painted. A large garden parasol costs around 20 euros! A combination of both tours includes a lunch.
